- Bjork - Virus
It takes a bit of time to get into the new album of Bjork, Biophilia, but you cannot reproach her of stagnation as she is always trying to come up with new concepts (the launch of an IPhone App for her new album) and experimentation in terms of sound. It’s simple you either like her or you don’t. Personally, I have always had a lot of respect for this artist as her music is quite haunting and she’s one of the few to have a total control of what she is doing.
Virus is to me a beautiful love song full of metaphors like only Bjork can come up with : ” Like a virus needs a body, as soft tissue feeds on blood, some day I’ll find you, the urge is here”; “Like a flame that seeks explosives, as gunpowder needs a war, I feast inside you, my host is you”. Surely, it has to be the most original way to say that you’re crazy about someone.
